Moonee Valley

Tricky race. EMPRESS OF WONDER (5) resumes here for a new stable, now with the Freedman's. She was a once-promising filly who had been around the mark in some strong juvenile races. She went to the paddock a solid maiden winner at Newcastle and looks nicely placed with Shinn booked here. FUROSSHI (6) was rewarded for consistency with a narrow win at Ballarat last time out. She'll go forward and try hard as usual. LINCOLNSHIRE (7) resumed at G3 level and struggled badly. She was a promising 2yo who could improve sharply back in grade here. JENNI THE JET (8) won her maiden comfortably at Benalla last time out and could go on with it here. CLEO CAT (2) is unbeaten in three starts and impossible to knock.

    Verdict
Second-up. First-up after six months sat on the pace before fading to run last of 14 at Flemington in the G3 Red Roses on November 7 over 1100m, 14 len behind Amelita carrying 57kg at $41. Previously second-up 4th of 13 at Caulfield Vobis Showdown on April 27 over 1200m, 1.5 len behind Stanley Express carrying 56kg at $4. Struggled fresh but this is much easier.
